Internet addiction is never an easy subject. Unfortunately, it is happening more and more often these days and should not be underestimated. A person who has become addicted to the virtual world has a huge problem, just like those addicted to alcohol, cigarettes or drugs. And while we don’t always realize that it’s just as big a problem, it’s worth keeping in mind if we meet someone with symptoms of Internet addiction.

The Internet has become somewhat of a symbol of our times. And while it can be considered an excellent invention of mankind, which makes life easier for many of us and allows the development of many socio-economic sectors, it also carries great risks. After all, using the Internet in the wrong way can lead to addiction. However, it is very important to spot it in time and start to counteract it. What are the symptoms of the disease known as siecioholism?
There is no rule for this. Anyone who gets sucked into the virtual world can fall through. It doesn’t matter if they are adults, teenagers or children. Older people are the least likely to succumb to temptation, mainly due to a lack of confidence in the latest technology. However, using the Internet should be done wisely. Of course, the Web gives us many opportunities (like reading the news or shopping online) and that’s why it’s so appealing. This, unfortunately, also makes it very dangerous. So it’s worth being careful and, despite the temptation, dose yourself appropriately with the time you spend on the Internet.
Internet addiction is worth controlling quickly, otherwise there can be huge consequences. The consequences of Internet addictions are often similar to those of alcoholism and other addictions. This is because they can include aggressive behavior, problems establishing and maintaining relationships with people, memory problems, lack of concentration, information overload, depression, lack of motivation to act, and neglect of oneself and one’s surroundings. Of course, networkoholism also directly affects physical health, as severe migraines, dizziness, back problems, visual disturbances, sexual dysfunction and, in the worst cases, screen epilepsy can occur.

Any symptoms of Internet addiction should be taken very seriously immediately. Prompt treatment can help the addict avoid many unpleasant situations. With a prompt response, it’s also much easier to recover from a disease such as siecioholism, because the addiction is easier to stop the shorter it lasts. Even before the addicted person loses himself in the virtual world for good. That’s why it’s a good idea to find out where there are help points for people who find themselves in this difficult situation. Therapy usually consists of the patient meeting with a psychologist, such as Ms. Justyna Iwanowska from Zielona Góra. He also gradually limits his stay in the virtual world, but this is a slow process. Instead of online activities, other types of activities are introduced. The addict is supposed to organize his free time in an interesting way – it could be going to a concert, meeting with friends or going to a swimming pool. However, this must be time without going online.
The advantages of going online are many. It facilitates access to information, provides entertainment and so on. However, it often also becomes very dangerous. Unfortunately, Internet addiction is a disease that needs to be treated as soon as possible to avoid a lot of unpleasantness. To this end, it is necessary to obtain information about the nearest Internet addiction treatment centers and go there to learn the details of the therapy. However, it is worth remembering that the sick person will not always be aware of his problem. In such a situation, he or she may not want to get treatment or go to therapy under duress, which unfortunately often proves ineffective. Then it is necessary to talk and explain a lot, so that the sick person himself feels that he wants to take treatment.
