How to change your last name? It may seem absurd to some, but, after all, no one can predict their last name, we get it either from our dad or from our mom. Sometimes, however, our last name sounds so ridiculous that we often fall victim to mockery, and derision from our colleagues or other acquaintances. Sometimes it happens that our last name sounds terrible, or even vulgar, then we are also not happy that we have this and not another name. Fortunately, the problem can disappear as quickly as it appeared.
For as residents of the Republic of Poland, we are its citizens, and in accordance with these rights, we can apply to change our name. Writing such an application, is not some particularly difficult, so anyone can cope with a simple-sounding formula. As for the authority where the application will be considered, we also do not have to look far for it, because such written requests will be considered by none other than the Head of the Registry Office itself. However, a mere request is not enough, everything must be supported by specific arguments, and, importantly, justified, only in this case we have a greater chance that our request will be considered favorably after all, but no one gives us a full guarantee. Most often, the head of the registry office approves the decision to change the surname, if the one that a citizen has is ridiculous and it does not agree with our own dignity. Then the application will certainly be granted.

So what if the issue of processing the application is already behind us. Then we have to choose a name for ourselves, in this case everything is characterized by freedom, which in this case we have open possibilities, but there is a but, we can not give ourselves names of typically meritorious people who played a paramount role in history, and one that is associated with the culture of the time, or current culture or science. We also can not choose the name of a famous politician, or military, so in a sense, however, there are some restrictions,if you nevertheless submit such an application, it will certainly be immediately rejected, and it will be impossible to change the name. Interestingly, such a change of the current alias, also translates into children, if the children are not 14 years old then only the consent of the parents to change the child’s name is enough, but the situation becomes more complicated when the child has long since turned 14 years old, then we can no longer decide everything ourselves, then the child has a significant voice, and it is the child who must agree to change his name, if the child does not agree then he can remain with his current name.
However, if the parents’ sides are divided, then the change of the minor’s name is decided by the court itself, which takes into account all the circumstances, and only then does the proper verdict come. It is easy to think about the validity of effective solutions today, only in this way, we can change something, otherwise it would not be possible, the change of name itself is not such a simple matter, so we should use such an opportunity only when we really have a not very interesting name.
