Ants in the house! How to combat them with home remedies? As it turns out, it is ants that can be the cause of our affliction today. Despite the fact that these insects are not pests, their presence in our home is not welcome. However, it is important to know that ants are very hard to exterminate, and that we need time to do so. The best way that makes it easier to combat ants are tried-and-true home methods, which work, but not in every case.
The easiest way is to buy a special ant powder, and spread it in places where we can most often meet these insects. This place is, of course, the kitchen, where dried food fragments very often lie. However, if the powder does not pass the test, then there is another way, namely we can use insect tiles, which are characterized by greater effectiveness.
When even this did not work then if we have a garden then we can lay out fresh thyme or mint in the kitchen of our house, their smell should effectively deter ants, at the same time it is a humane version, because we only frighten ants and not kill them.

However, if even this was not a sufficient warning then we should check why ants appear in our house. We must then remove all things related to food and water, which is natural food, without which, they will not be able to survive. It’s also a good idea to wash all dishes immediately after the meal itself, that way the ants won’t find anything to eat. Garbage and other waste must be taken outside, so we should not keep fresh garbage in our house for too long.
Other ways to deal with ants include spraying their trails and places where they gather with a special concoction of herbs. For this, you can use leaves of nettle, vermilion and wormwood and leave the prepared concoction like this for a few days, then spray the designated areas. In case ants gather around a flower pot, scatter cinnamon around it. Ants do not like its pungent smell, so they will effectively retreat and leave the plant alone. Vinegar and lemon juice will work similarly. A good option, especially in the kitchen, and more specifically in the cabinets, is to leave a trap with honey. The ants will fall into it and you can evict the unwanted guests. Just cover the cardboard with honey.
It is also worthwhile, especially in summer, to make sure that quickly rotting things are stored only in the refrigerator, because the smell of rotting, attracts numerous colonies of ants. There should also be no holes in the apartment, and no cracks through which ants can get into our home. If we observe any small crack, then we should apply a sealing compound. In this way, we got rid of virtually every factor that could somehow be favorable for ants to feel at home in our house.
Only the application of all the above methods, should help us once and for all to get rid of these unwanted tenants, we will certainly not see them in our home again, by which we can breathe a sigh of relief, because the threat no longer exists, if we do everything right, we will certainly never see the plague of an ts in the apartment again.
